Pacific Gateway offers free after-school workshops
to all students, of all English levels. Students can participate
in a Grammar Workshop, which will help them brush up on the grammar
and structures they have learned in their regular program. Pacific
Gateway also offers an Accent Reduction Workshop which will help
students improve their pronunciation. Students are encouraged
to join the Reading Workshop or the Film Workshop if they would
like to improve their grammar, vocabulary, and TOEIC® score,
while increasing their enjoyment of English literature and films.
The workshops and clubs may vary at each Pacific Gateway location.
Please check with Pacific Gateway for more information.
1. Accent Reduction Workshop (ARW)
These small group workshops will help you improve your pronunciation
by focusing on pronunciation problems typical of your native language
group. Pacific Gateway has classes for the major language groups
represented at Pacific Gateway (i.e. German, Japanese, Korean,
Spanish, Mandarin, and Portuguese).
2. Grammar Workshop
This remedial grammar workshop will help you brush up on grammar
and structures you have learned in your regular programs.
3. Language Correction Workshop
The Language Correction Workshop will help you correct typical
grammar mistakes made during conversations.
4. Canadian Conversation Club (CCC)
You are invited to join small conversation groups with Canadians
from the Vancouver, Toronto and Victoria communities. They are
a fun way to gain confidence and improve your English conversation
skills!
5. Reading Workshop
You are encouraged to join the Reading Club if you would like
to improve your grammar, vocabulary, and TOEIC® score while
increasing your enjoyment of English literature. There is a lot
of group discussion and review of reading strategies.
6. Film Workshop
You can watch great films and engage in discussions with other
Pacific Gateway students.
